A colleague sent me the link to the KartOO search engine a while ago and I’ve just revisited the site and thought that it still presents information in a unique way, particularly as a search engine.
KartOO is a meta search engine which presents its results on a map.
KartOO is a metasearch engine with visual display interfaces. When you click on OK, KartOO launches the query to a set of search engines, gathers the results, compiles them and represents them in a series of interactive maps.
It took me a little while to get the hang of the search engine and I’m still not sure I’ll use it on a regular basis. Change is difficult, even if it’s a good idea, and I’m not sure I’m willing to make the move from the familiar search engine interface to something so different.
I find it interesting nonetheless…
