Personally, I believe there’s an overabundance of social networking sites on the net. So, when I stumbled across FIDG’T: Your Social Networking Address Book I wasn’t immediately interested.

To be honest, I’m still not interested in joining this social network, but they do have a fascinating visualization that I’d like to share.

The Fidg’t Visualizer allows users to play around with their network in new and unique ways. It’s still in its Alpha phase, and is downloadable without even opening a Fidg’t account.

You interface with the Visualizer through Flickr and LastFM tags, using any tag to create a Magnet. Once a Tag Magnet is created, members of the network will gravitate towards it if they have photos or music with that same Tag.

I downloaded the Visualizer and within minutes loaded my friends’ relevant accounts. I had fun using random Tag magnets to mess around – gravitating content and user accounts depending on their connection with my custom Tag Magnet.

This simple mechanic lets you visualize your Network in a unique way, demonstrating its Predisposition towards certain things.

Here is a video clip that shows the Fidg’t Visualizer in use:
