Today, I enjoyed reading Kim Hart’s article in the Washington Post entitled “The Next Frontier: Decoding the Internet’s Raw Data.” She mentions a number of current data exploitation and mining needs: Mining Facebook photos and status updates to discover people’s preferences; Deciphering weather patterns from climate records; and Exposing government data sets to citizens.
