Data Integrity

A colleague pointed me to an interesting article, Gobs and Gobs of Data: Strategies for Visualizing and Sharing Policy Content, that lays out some interesting techniques people and companies are using for visualizing their data.

The truth is, Data Integrity is essential to even the most rudimentary Information Visualizations.

In Dec. of 2006, the NY Times published an article on a visualization that displays interconnectedness between multiple factors involved in significant terrorist events.

Just to recap — Data Integrity: Data Integrity ensures the data is “whole” or complete…” “Put simply, data integrity is the assurance that data is consistent, correct, and accessible.” Proper Data Integrity is essential in order for data to be considered credible.
