Depending on your general interest in video games, you may have heard of the wildly popular multi-player game released earlier this year, Halo 3. In the 3rd generation of the game, player statistics are even more significant.
Personally, I’m a big fan and have probably spent too many hours in front of the TV. I visited the game makers website recently, Bungie.net, and was impressed with what I found.

I was excited to find that they had created a personalized experience where I could explore my game play from many different aspects. My personal stats are loaded and available online almost instantly.
Bungie has also introduced a number of data visualizations intended to give players a new method of dissecting their game play.
The Game Viewer is a visual representation of where each player got a kill as well as from where they shot. It is all overlaid on the map of the level played.
A newly introduced visualization is the Heatmap.
Analyze gameplay strategy with player-specific heatmaps. See where individuals do most of their killing (and dying) in each of Halo 3’s maps.
I was just blown away at the level of sophistication and data analysis that went into the third and final edition of Halo. If you like video games and haven’t tried this one out, go buy it and enjoy.
