Last post I shared a cool visualization of Digg Labs - ARC - that displayed stories, topics, and containers wrapped around a sphere.
This time I want to share some other fantastic visualizations:
Digg Stack shows diggs occurring in real time on up to 100 stories at once. Diggers fall from above and stack up on popular stories. Brightly colored stories have more diggs.”
Digg Swarm draws a circle for stories as they’re ‘dugg’. Diggers swarm around stories, and make them grow. Brightly colored stories have more diggs.

These are beautiful for visualizing the information they present, but there’s one big caveat. This is all real-time information. Maybe it would be useful for Digg’s own sysadmins to have this sort of information available, but for an end user it is just a pretty proof of concept. Something you could put in the waiting room of Digg headquarters.
There needs to be a deeper temporal perspective here and then it could be a useful alternative to a feed reader. What would be really cool is if you started out with a visualization of a day’s worth of posts but can “zoom in” to current activity.
