I’m pretty sure that Tufte would not approve of the sparsity of data and the graphical elements that do not convey data. That said, there is certainly some aesthetic components here. Click here for an interactive flash version.
It has some quite nice visual features (like highlighting a particular data line when you hover over the ‘person’ representing a part of the site or audience), but its best feature is only revealed when you press (and hold, for about 20 seconds) the D key on the keyboard.
One of my first experiences with data warehousing was while consulting to Coke. They have an incredible data analytics capability on an absolutely massive data set.
